All you long time fans of the genre should know what to expect from the new album. Much of what one would expect from the Quakes would be astonishing lyrics, over-the-top musical talent, & a whole lot of great tunes in the end. Negative Charge will leave you wanting nothing but more…As impossible as it may seem, The Quakes have developed progressively through all of their 20+ years in influencing the musical world around them and show no signs of stopping. The newest roster for The Quakes is very promising, as this album will quickly prove. Upon recruiting Juan Carlos (The Limit Club) & Kenny (The Black Jackets), The Quakes seem to be stuck with a winning combo, whether they like it or not! As with all of their albums, this one has a very modern sound, while respecting where it all came from. You’re not going to put this CD in & ask who made it, but it does diplay a wide variety of musical styles. Most of you Quakes fans will find that this one has everything you’re looking for. There’s a few songs that have that “You know it’s the Quakes” feel to ‘em, & then you’ll hear a few that totally stimulate your eardrums in a new way. Always pushing the limits, This release is no exception. They always deliver a little bit for everyone; whether you like the faster side of psychobilly or the more traditional rockabilly influenced stuff, there are a few tracks that really grab you by the balls. For me, they are “Straight to Valhalla”, “Turn on You Tomorrow”, “Raining All My Life”, & “Seven Seas Alone”. For you they may be different; but if you’re reading this, I highly suggest this album as well as all their other ones; there’s gotta be at least 10 by now. Go buy them all. I would, but I already have.

Special thanks to to all the bands that waste their time with me…Speaking of which, you guys should’ve seen the Sawyer Family; If you couldn’t make it, you missed something special! And a very big thank you to all that come out to my shows…the bands I love couldn’t make it without you all…Yes, I know I said “Titties” in this one, too. I just can’t help it…I love ‘em.
