Lightnin’ Woodcock – Demo tracks & Live
Alright, kats & Kittens, here’s the deal. I don’t have a cd to review (persay) for ol’ Lightnin’ but you will NEED to be on the lookout for his music. Upon hearing the tracks sent to me, I was a shoe-in for the live show! The 3 songs I heard gave me an absolute drive to see the live performance, which I was blown away at! I enter the door & greet a few old friends, listen to a couple of GREAT bands I kow (Convoi kicks ass, too) & hear straight up blues come over the PA. Naturally, I turn to see who’s playing. This skinny white man was playing a lick I’d never heard like it was straight off the old school top 10. First thought to cross my mind is “This boy plays like Stevie Ray!”…& I was soon proven wrong. Lightin’ Woodcock is not only one of the fastest guitar players I’ve ever seen; he combines melody with speed to an extreme where one is blended into another. Since there is no finished product to rate, I give the live performance
