<itunes:summary>Matt Woods - The Matt Woods Manifesto (http://www.therealmattwoods.com)

The only manifesto I've ever enjoyed before this one was the fake one in “Repo Men”, one of my favorite movies. This one, however, is a true story told by a truly talented musician through the power of song. The story is of a man from a small town looking for something more, and all the perils that lie within. (Pun intended) The tracks on this cd are so attention grabbing not only because of the awesome voice this guy belts out with, but also the undeniable fact that you can tell these songs come from the heart. At first look, you'd never expect the voice from the man, but after a good listen it almost makes sense. They say you can take the boy out of the country, but not the country out of the boy. I think Matt helped me realize exactly what they meant. The only voice I can think of that is even similar would be Brett Walker (Walker and the Tx Dangers), but there is something that separates the two, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Either way this is one helluva CD.

Matt Woods is one of the most talented singer/ songwriters I'v had the pleasure to meet. I hope you all get the chance to do the same. He's also got an older release called “Broken Strings and Beer Specials that's worth looking into while yer at it!

They are doing a reunion show in honor and memory of Marky, whom passed away a few years back. Our very own Barstool Preacher fronts up this awesome 3 piece rockin' your way from SoCal. Luck of the Draw take a lot from many different places and fall somewhere between Cowpunk and straight up Rock-N-Roll. Lyrics include truck drivin', hot cars, fast women (or vice versa), and having some serious fun. They are yelled at you through a whiskey coated, raspy voice, just the way they should be! The music matches the attitude of the words perfectly, delivering an all around great listen. This isn't the 1st album under their belt, but I have to say that it's probably their best one to date. Todd may hate me for saying this, but White Knuckles… is pretty catchy! I found myself singing along after the very first spin. I love this band because they remind me a lot of some of my other favorites such as Demented Are Go, and Dead City Shakers while keeping a chokehold on their own unique sound. Rumor has it that there is a new album in the works, so go get this one and keep your ears perked for new stuff!

Comin' to you from Boston, Mass. is Tex Railer's Doomtown. Railer Radio is a badass album chock full of psychobilly goodness! Don't forget to put on your wreckin' shoes before you pop this one in, kats & kittens! The intro is a little misleading in the fact that it makes you think your're going to hear some kind of surfabilly western sounding tunes, but it's still a really good jam. From there Doomtown takes you straight to the psycho! I love this CD because it reminds me of those shows where the pits hurt people. Not that getting hurt is a good thing, but show scars are sexy. Dubbing themselves outlaw psychobilly, this release lives up to the name 110%. They take some influence from almost everywhere including Link Wray, Motorhead, Waylon Jennings, Bad Religion and The Ventures, to name a few. Yet another perk you'll find with "Railer Radio" is the ad-libs between songs. It adds some comedy and always make for a more enjoyable listen. The names of my favorites are "Psychopath" and "Suffolkation"; that should say enough about the tunes right there! I am highly suggesting you get this and listen to it, but I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for broken glass, bones, lacerations, ect. incurred if you listen with your friends. It's only 8 songs, but I still give it

San Antonio has a ton of awesome locals and these guys are definitely one of my favorites! Although this is their 1st release, it is nothing less than impressive. “You Know You Want It” is straight up Rock N Roll, southern style. Bigwood has a style all their own, without a doubt. They blend heavy riffs with solid drums and bass on most tracks for an almost metal feel, yet show off some diversity with an almost ska sound on a couple tracks. The cd is a fun one to spin the whole way through. You may be reminded a bit of Primus at times and Static X at others but rest assured you’re in for a treat. A couple of the tracks even remind me of a band called Green Jelly. You remember them, right? This group has a great stage presence as well so don’t miss ‘em if you get the chance.

Fuckin' A Pittsburg is puttin out some good music these days! The Rustbelt Homewreckers are keeping true to that tune, for sure. If good timin' Rock 'N Roll is what you're looking for, then look no further, my friends! There are some obvious influences from various types of music across the board, but these guys throw it all together to make a high energy, good mood inspiring, gimme another round sound all of their own. So you know what to expect, at times they remind me a bit of some early

Al & the Black Cats. Other times they remind me a bit of Black Eyed Vermillion. Lyrically you'll hear stories of drink, women, good & bad times, and some "Mighty Fine Weed" which just happens to be my favorite track. "Zombieshine" gives it a strong run for the money, though. Another plus for this release is the artwork. Kudos to Aron Zeman on the layout, mixing the old school with the new. This band is known for getting wild at the shows, so if they come through your town make sure to go get you some of that action!

Word has it that Ft. Worth, Tx has it going on these days. If these guys are a fair indication, then things out that way are much better than I thought! Like all other albums, this one displays a combination of other styles, but the obvious mainstay is bluegrass. Pay the Fiddler is one of the best releases to come across my player in quite some time. As a matter of fact, I can't remember enjoying an album more than this since Jayke Orvis' most recent. True, some parts remind me of other artists, but make no mistake, this music is 100% original and 100% awesome. I can't even decide on a favorite. A few of the tunes are upbeat and comical, while most are a little more sincere. Everything you need from some good roots tunes are here. You've got some six-string, bass, fiddle, dobro, and of course, banjo. On "The ballad of Billy..." you even get the audio pleasure of hearing the steel guitar. Brett Walker is a lyrical genious and talented on the bass, to boot. For this one he gathered some of the most talented and experienced musicians from throughout the scene. You've seen some of them onstage with some people you wouldn't believe, but I'll spoil no surprise here; you'll just have to listen to the interview for that! If you're reading this take it from me; You have GOT to check this band out. Don't wait until it's out of print!

Alright, kiddies! Once again the Hotrod Hillbillies are bringin' you some awesome tunes from ATX. These guys are one of the best examples of Texas Rockabilly out there today, and this release shows them off pretty damned well. Here you'll find the perfect blend of country, punk, blues, & rockabilly. This CD's a must have for a fan of any genres listed above. Plus, "You Wanna Race" has some of the most talented people in the industry standing in to guarantee the best possible listening experience. With Tony Slash slappin bass, David Cisneros banging the skins, and Xavier Ortiz on the six string you absolutely cannot go wrong! On some tracks you even get the pleasure of hearing Mr. Al Martinez on the lap/pedal steel. This means you have a blend of The Rocketz, Bad Luck Bandits, Moonlight Cruisers & Sugar Daddy's and if that don't float your boat I don't know what will! Not only is the music top-notch, but true to HRHB fashion it is lyrically genious. Most of the songs are inspired by real life experience, with a comical spin thrown on it. In fact, some of the best tracks are inspired by aweful events. Every song tells a story. In the end, though, this spin is fun the whole way through. Oh, and if you're offended by some foul language, (Pussy) I wouldn't recommend this one!

Drive By Truckers – Fine Print: A collection of Rarities and Oddities If you don’t know about the Drive By Truckers, at times they deliver a sound that is very country, but lyrically outlaw. It’s so friggin’ awesome I’m almost at a loss for words, but here goes. Bob Wayne represents outlaw country to the fullest. Some of the songs are drawn from real life experiences, while others are just plain ol’ fun. Among...
